So much for running a little business in a lovely old arcade. It is really a great place to have a small business, set right in the middle of a middle sized town. Lots of lovely people have popped in to say hello and find out what we are doing here, intrigued.
We sell fabrics, some vintage remnants and some materials on the roll, especially plain colours of various types. Dressmaking and tailoring is taking off well, plenty of work to keep me out of mischief. Tuition and workshops are also on the rise. It seems that all my contacts in the trade are doing well, more people are buying sewing machines, and learning how to use them to make do and mend, and also to make things from scratch. The creative bug has arrived again, after lying dormant for many years. |
